At Dirt Byk Tours, we aways stress to our customers "Ride your own ride." This mentality starts at the planning stage. Each ride is individually tailored to meet and exceed our customer expectations. All factors including the dates available, desired type of ride (day trip, moto camping, single track, sightseeing, etc), rider ability, bike type, terrain, season, and so, are taken into consideration when preparing a private or group tour.
The options are endless! Pick any direction out of Tucson and the riding is amazing. Riding around Tucson is prime November through May. Summer months mean escaping to elevation! But when the weather around the country is bitterly cold or snowed in, Southern Arizona is in the height of our riding season. Below are a few possibilities to entice the adventurous spirit in you!
Mt. Lemmon is a true gem of Tucson! Towering over 9,000 feet, Mt. Lemmon has a ski lift at the top and small skiing area, as well as a quaint mountain community with small shops and a restaurant. The ride up the backside starts on the cacti covered desert floor and climbs until you're surrounded by towering pines. The smell can't be translated into words. The views make the rough and relentless climb worth every mile. The rock formations riding down the front side are even better!
The ride stages south of Tuscon near Green Valley, AZ. In the early morning hours, Mt. Washinton cast a vast shadow over the Valley. The area attracts tourists from around the world for the abundant wildlife and spectacular views. The ride weaves through the mountains, up and over a pass, and down into a completely different landscape of rolling grasslands. The destination for lunch is the historic town of Patagonia, Arizona. A quick stop by the lake to cool off before we head back to town!
Another fun place to explore is the Reddington Pass area! ROCKS, ROCKS and more ROCKS! This area will challenge even the most experienced riders. Depending on the time of year, there can be a fantastic waterfall! This would be ideal for anyone looking for a shorter day or doesn't want to spend an entire day riding, and it's close to town! Get the full AZ experience in a smaller package.
Rides can vary from 1-5 days. Either motel to motel or camping; you choose!
An individual section or the whole thing!
Our favorite hidden wonder of Arizona. This is where the Apache's retreated to, and for good reason! It's rugged, remote and stunningly beautiful. We have access to 1000's of acres of private property to explore mines, underground lakes, abandoned towns and areas off limits to most for the last 100 years. This is a summer, early fall or late spring ride as the area is at elevation. During the summer this is a great place to escape the summer heat.
The Mogollon Rim cuts 200 miles across northeastern Arizona from the outskirts of Flagstaff all the way to the border with New Mexico. The rim marks the transition point where the Colorado Plateau drops down to a natural wonderland that includes the White Mountains before transitioning again to the Sonoran Desert. The camping and cool weather in the summer make this an ideal summer destination.
